Terms of use
Last updated: 10 October 20261. Who we are
9 Pocket is a card collection tracker run by Matthew Buhagiar, Malta ("we", "us"). Contact: [email protected]. By using 9 Pocket you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
2. What 9 Pocket does
9 Pocket lets you record the trading cards and sealed products you own, see estimated market values, track set progress, and get an estimated grade from photos of a card. It is a tool for keeping track of a collection. It is not a shop, a marketplace or a grading company, and it does not buy, sell or hold any cards.
3. Values are estimates
- Card values are estimates worked out from public price data (mainly Cardmarket's daily price list, checked against TCGplayer) and from rules of thumb for condition. They are not offers, quotes or appraisals, and real sale prices can be higher or lower.
- Price data can be late, missing or wrong, and a listing can mix different versions of a card. The app explains how each value was reached and links to the original sources so you can check.
- Nothing in 9 Pocket is financial or investment advice. Decide what to buy, sell or insure for yourself, using the real offers on the market.
4. Grades are estimates
The scanner's grade is an automatic estimate from your photos. It is not a grade from PSA, BGS, CGC, SGC or any other grading company, and it cannot see everything a grader sees, such as surface scratches, the card's thickness or whether it is genuine. Photo quality, lighting, sleeves and toploaders all affect the result. Use it as a guide, not as a promise of what a grading company will give.
5. Your account and your data
- You sign in to 9 Pocket with your Google account. Your collection is then saved to your account so it follows you between devices.
- Your collection is yours. You can export a full backup at any time and delete your account from the app. How we handle your data is explained in the privacy page.
- Keep your Google account secure; anyone who can sign in to it can see and change your collection.
6. Free plan and Plus
The free plan is free and has limits (for example the number of cards, scans and price checks), which are shown in the app and on the home page. Plus removes those limits and adds features. We may change what each plan includes; if a change takes away something you have paid for, section 7 applies.
7. Plus subscriptions
- Price and billing. Plus costs the price shown when you subscribe (currently €4.99 a month or €39.99 a year, VAT included where it applies). It renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- Where you pay. If you subscribe through Google Play, Google takes the payment and Google Play's own terms and refund rules also apply. If you subscribe on the website, payment is handled by the payment provider named at checkout.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time. Plus then stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and you are not charged again. Your collection stays; over the free plan's limits it becomes read-only for new additions until you remove cards or subscribe again.
- Your right to change your mind (EU). As a consumer in the EU you normally have 14 days to withdraw from an online purchase. Because Plus starts straight away, when you subscribe you will be asked to agree that it begins at once and that you then lose this right for the period already started. If you did not give that agreement, you can withdraw within 14 days and get a refund.
- Price changes. If the price of Plus changes, we will tell you before your next renewal, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
8. Fair use
Please don't:
- copy, resell or republish 9 Pocket, its code, its design or its scanning, grading and pricing methods, or try to take it apart to build a competing service;
- use bots or scripts to pull data out of 9 Pocket in bulk, or try to get around the plan limits;
- interfere with the service, other people's accounts or the services it relies on;
- use it for anything unlawful.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. If we do, you can still ask us for a copy of your collection.
9. Ownership and fan notice
9 Pocket's software, design and text are © 2026 9 Pocket, all rights reserved. 9 Pocket is an unofficial fan project and is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Nintendo, Creatures, GAME FREAK or The Pokémon Company. Card names, card images and set symbols belong to their owners; images are shown from public sources and are not part of 9 Pocket.
10. Other services
9 Pocket links to and loads information from other services (such as Cardmarket, TCGplayer, eBay, PriceCharting, the Pokémon TCG API and TCGdex). We are not responsible for those services, their content or their availability, and their own terms apply when you use them.
11. Availability and changes
We work to keep 9 Pocket running and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free or unchanged. We may add, change or remove features. If we ever close 9 Pocket for good, we will give at least 30 days' notice so you can export your collection, and refund any Plus time you have paid for and not used.
12. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live, or our liability where the law does not allow it to be limited. Within those limits, we are not liable for losses that come from relying on an estimated value or grade, from price data supplied by others, or from events outside our control. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for Plus in the 12 months before the claim.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, the date at the top changes. For important changes we will tell you in the app before they take effect. If you keep using 9 Pocket after that, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can stop using it and delete your account.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Malta. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your own country and can bring a claim there. If something goes wrong, please contact us first at [email protected] and we will try to sort it out.
